The Well - A Poem

Drink the water is clear

Drink the water is good

Drink and your soul will never thirst again

Standing at the well

Believing to be an outcast

Why did I have to speak with

This stranger in the

Noonday sun?

Where is your husband?

Where is your partner?

Where is your Savior?

Falling to the ground

The sand and dirt in my fingernails

I did not realize that

The King of Kings

Had come to live among the people

Go tell your family

Go tell your friends

Go in peace, daughter, and weep no more
