I studied Byzantine power through the Round Church at Scythopolis. Using architectural analysis, I calculated the dome's structural feasibility. My research proves the church's acropolis location and visible dome weren't accidental; they were tools of symbolic power. By applying Bourdieu's theory, I show how the Byzantine Empire merged religious authority with political control, using monumental architecture to dominate social space and assert territorial dominance.
